Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit

Our Non-Profit Offerings

Mission Statement

Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit is our way of giving back to the community that has so graciously trusted us with their mental health care. Our purpose is to provide individuals, families, and the community with resources, workshops and programs that offer education and support to those who are experiencing mental illness. Mental health services through the fund are provided by Jessica C. Sullivan LCSW, PLLC.

In 2015, Jessica Sullivan established Nourish Your Mind, a mental health practice with the intention of supporting those struggling with chronic physical and mental health issues. Over the past 8 years Nourish Your Mind has been dedicated to reducing the stigma around mental health. But asking for mental health support and gaining access to affordable resources are two separate issues. Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit programs aim to offer individual intervention and community-level prevention by addressing common barriers to care including insurance coverage, stigma, and workforce shortages.

Non-profit vs Private Practice

Information

Our organization was established in 2015 by Jessica Sullivan with the intention of “supporting those struggling with chronic physical and mental health issues.” According to a 2023 study conducted by the Mental Health Association of America, over 28 million adults with a mental illness receive no treatment and 60% of youth with major depression do not receive mental health treatment. In the United States, there are 350 individuals for every one mental health provider – the state of health in our country is in crisis. Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit was established with the goal of making mental health services more accessible to those in need.

Current Programs

Trauma Programs

The Trauma programs represent our individual interventions to support those after a crisis has already taken place. These trauma programs exclusively utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
Learn more about ART.

Our Intensive Trauma Program is designed for individuals who have experienced either a single traumatic event or a series of traumatic experiences centered around a common theme. Our program exclusively implements Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a scientific approach to emotional healing and promotes resilience and post-traumatic growth. This technique leverages the principles of neuroplasticity to process and resolve traumatic memories and emotional responses in an accelerated manner. By utilizing bilateral eye-movements (similar to those experienced during sleep), memories can be rewired, new associations and neuropathways can be made, empowering individuals and resolving associated symptoms. Each Intensive Trauma Program is personalized to meet the needs of the individual, creating a roadmap to effective and accelerated emotional healing.

Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit recognizes the need to provide preventative mental health care and support to our community. In an effort to do our part to tackle common barriers to accessing treatment, we have developed The Mental Health School Workshop Program.

This Program will provide free, educational and skill-based workshops to local schools upon their request. The structure of the Program is uniquely designed to allow the schools to tell us what mental health topic their students would benefit learning from. This allows Nourish Your Mind Non-Profit to then tailor the workshop to meet the students where they are at and to ensure that the free support being offered truly matches the students’ needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary difference between the Private Practice and the Non-Profit fund is the type of programs offered and the funding associated with the programs. Our Private Practice organization offers Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. The Non-Profit offers funding to participate in our trauma programs, free mental health workshops to schools and provides financial support to certain Nourish Your Mind groups. These programs are only available to those who are (1) uninsured, have Medicare/Medicaid, or our office does not accept your insurance and (2) experiencing financial hardship.

We raise funds exclusively through fundraising events. We would not be able to offer these amazing services if it wasn’t for the wonderful support from our community. To stay up to date with future events be sure to follow our social media pages – FacebookInstagram .

You can access all of our public applications by clicking the links above. Please note that there are different qualifications for each program.
