๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐๐š๐ฒ --- If you are feeling that conflicts between yourself and a particular person may be escalating, trying a mindful meditation may help calm turbulent waters. Rather than focusing on disagreements, or how you have been hurt, it is more productive to practice loving-kindness to show compassion to yourself and to others. Send kind sentiments and loving feelings to yourself, then to someone you care about, then to someone with who you may not be getting along.

Practicing a loving and kind mindful meditation can look like this:
โ€ข Find a comfortable space and positionโ€ฆbedtime with the lights lowered makes for a comforting place.
โ€ข Begin sending kind sentiments.
โ€ข May I be safe. May (insert name) be safe.
โ€ข May I be healthy, peaceful, and strong. May (insert name) be healthy, peaceful, and strong
โ€ข May I give and receive appreciation today. May (insert name) give and receive appreciation.

๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐๐š๐ฒ --- When faced with conflict, practicing mindfulness invites you to approach differences without judgement. Rather than lashing out, or reacting with routine anger and offense, choose to pause, and breathe slowly. Todayโ€™s mindfulness skills are meant to provide positive exercises for conflict resolution.

Try these steps to acknowledge that you have space to choose when you are feeling angry, overwhelmed, or divided:
๐Ÿ’œ Accept that you are upset and donโ€™t fight it. You could even say aloud, โ€œI am upset.โ€
๐Ÿ’œ Choose to be patient with yourself.
๐Ÿ’œ If, however, your emotions feel too strong to investigate, acknowledge your difficulty, and move away from the troubling situation.
๐Ÿ’œ Choose to return to the issue when you are calmer.
Instead of falling asleep dreading that tomorrow i Instead of falling asleep dreading that tomorrow is Monday, consider the good that this very First Monday of the year could offer:

๐ŸŸฃ 52 chances to see a beautiful sunrise;
๐ŸŸข A new week to share yourself with the world;
๐ŸŸฃ Opportunity to create a bright future;
๐ŸŸข A moment to take a breather after the hullabaloo of the holidays...afterall, there will be many more Mondays, and other days of the week.

How will you use your First Monday? Let us know below. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡ #FirstMonday #nourishyourmind #tellmewhyidontlikemondays #hvwib #mentalhealthsupport
